HCSD Schools Participate In The American Heart Challenge
Recently, schools across the Hall County School District participated in the American Heart Challenge, which is a service-learning program sponsored by the American Heart Association that gives students the opportunity to “feel good, while doing good.” Students raised funds and awareness for congenital heart defects, nutrition security, CPR training, mental well-being and so much more in an effort to end heart disease and stroke.
Students and staff participated in a variety of activities to promote healthy heart awareness–including sharing healthy snacks and recipes and participating in games that increase cardiovascular strength–basketball and volleyball tournaments to name a few. Many of our students watched an instructive video and then received training in hands on CPR. It was a wonderful event and we hope to continue participation in the future.
