Hall County School District Annual Spelling Bee Results
On Wednesday, January 26, the Hall County School District conducted its annual District Spelling Bee at East Hall High School. Students representing the district’s twenty elementary schools and eight middle schools were in attendance.
Finishing in third place for the district was Alex Lewis, an 8th grade student from West Hall Middle School. The second place spot went to 5th grader Nam Tran, who attends Spout Springs Elementary School.
And this year’s champion is Paul Adams, a 7th grade student from the Academies of Discovery at South Hall. Paul won with the word “phonics.”
The top two place winners in the district advance to Region II competition, and the winner of third place will attend as an alternate. Our place winners will match their skills against students from Cherokee, Cobb, Dawson, Forsyth, Habersham, Lumpkin, Towns, Rabun, White, and Union Counties, as well as the Gainesville City and Marietta City school districts. Etowah High School will host the Region II competition this year on February 26.
Congratulations to Paul, Nam, and Alex, and all of our spelling bee participants, for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship.
