HCSD 2024 AP & IB Pass Rates
The Hall County School District is proud to announce pass rates for the 2024 AP and IB exams.
Like last year, the number of AP exams continued to grow, with over 300 more AP exams in 2024. Additionally, almost 100 more students took AP exams this year than last year, and our students posted a 63% pass rate, an 8% increase from the previous year’s pass rate and the highest overall pass rate since at least 2013.
“Certainly, these scores represent the highest AP pass rate and one of the largest number of exams taken in our district’s history,” said Superintendent Will Schofield. “We are extremely proud of the hard work and level of commitment from these students, their teachers, and their families.”
With regard to the district’s three International Baccalaureate Programmes (IB), Johnson High School, North Hall High School, and West Hall High School had seniors who took 429 IB exams; the overall pass rate was 74%. IB students district-wide compiled a 95%+ pass rate in IB English, Spanish, and Mandarin, with students in IB Spanish and Mandarin posting 100% pass rates.
Additionally, 47 Hall County Students participating in the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) fulfilled IB diploma requirements to earn the IB Diploma, including the IB Bilingual Diploma and the IB Career Diploma, for an overall IB Diploma pass rate of 82%, an increase of 8% from the previous year’s pass rate.
“We are encouraged by the increase in numbers of students taking AP exams because it represents a confidence students have in their ability to succeed,” said Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Kevin Bales. “Add to that the increase in pass rates–as well as the outstanding pass rates from our students enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Programme–and the entire district and community truly have much to celebrate.”
Congratulations to these outstanding students on their hard work and achievement.
